Melanie White Designs was founded ten years ago on Mothers’ Day by Martha Selhorst and her daughter, Melanie White.

A world-wide collector of antique clothing for 20 years, Martha Selhorst also collected period jewelry to embellish her exhibitions and runway shows that were given coast to coast during the 1980’s and 1990’s. An appreciation for the enhancement to women’s’ attire provided by period jewelry has lead to her innovative designs for today’s styles.

The Martha McCaskey Selhorst Collection of period costume has been a welcomed addition to The Kent State University Museum.

Melanie White has experience in women’s apparel for over 12 years – in boutiques, jewelry design, trade and fashion shows and modeling.

By working together, this mother/daughter team capitalizes on their combined creative genius. Melanie White Designs creates jewelry with semi-precious stones, silver and gold vermeil. Since they design and create each piece according to your personal preference they guarantee no two pieces are alike.  The outcome is a combination of embellished accessories that blend current trends with classic, timeless elegance. MWD pieces are all “signed” with their signature MWD charm on the clasp. Designed and made in the USA.

Their jewelry is versatile….from the beach to the boardroom, worn with either jeans and a tee shirt to the LBD.

Their current collection is available on, at charity events, trunk shows, and by private consultations. Custom designs are available by appointment for formal or informal occasions. Made especially for you by Melanie White Designs.
